Founder

Jennifer A. Minotti (she/her/hers) founded the Women’s Writing Circle (WWC) in 2014 as a means to merge her passions for expressive writing, positive psychology, community organizing, women’s health, and social activism.

In 2020, she also founded the Journal of Expressive Writing, the first online literary journal to publish expressive writing, freewriting, non-fiction, personal essay, memoir, reflective essay, poetry, prose, contemplative discourse, and creative non-fiction—all originating from a writing prompt—by both established and emerging writers.

For the past 25 years, Jen has dedicated her professional life towards working for the betterment of society. For 17 years, Jen worked at Education Development Center (EDC)—a global non-profit working to improve education, health, and economic opportunities worldwide—in a variety of technology, research, writing, and leadership roles for projects that focused on health and human development, online professional development, literacy, bullying-prevention, urban education, science, assistive technology, special education, and inclusive schooling practices. In addition, she is the Co-Creator of The World's Very First Gratitude Parade and helped establish Gratitude Day in the City of Cambridge, MA.

Since 2015, Jen has been Writer-in-Residence at Suffolk University’s Center for Women's Health and Human Rights in Boston, MA. In Jen’s spare time, she is a passionate student of gratitude.

Jen is a graduate of Boston University (B.S.) and Columbia University (M.A., M.Ed). She is a Certified Journal to the Self (JTTS) Instructor and holds certificates in Wholebeing Positive Psychology, Transformative Language Arts Foundations, Distance Education, and Herbal Studies. She is a former Division 1 swimmer and triathlete who loves sports. Jen lives with her husband and children in Cambridge, MA.

Jen is Editor of the anthology, Who Am I Today: 40 Women Answer the Question (Suffolk University, 2022). You can find Jen’s writing and poetry in numerous refereed journals, literary publications, and anthologies.
